Gray Water Program
The Limited-Income Laundry-to-Landscape Gray Water Program is designed to enhance participation from limited-income households in Tucson Water’s Gray Water Rebate Program by eliminating the upfront costs associated with installing gray water irrigation systems. This initiative prioritizes accessible sustainable water practices to all, ensuring that low-income families can contribute to water conservation.
With funding from Tucson Water, our program offers a grant of up to $500 and a zero-interest loan of up to $500 to help your household afford a laundry-to-landscape system. Additionally, we assist you in applying for Tucson Water’s rebate of up to $1,000, further reducing financial barriers. Most loans are structured for 12 months, making repayment manageable.
While a permit is necessary for modifications to drainage plumbing or piping from any fixture, using a pre-existing gravity stub-out from the washing machine does not require a permit, simplifying the process for families. Tucson Water is committed to reimbursing qualifying costs once a permanent gray water irrigation system is installed at your home.
Financial assistance:
- If your total household income is equal to less than the 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FLP) you qualify for a grant of up to $500.
- If your total household income is greater than 100% of the FPL but less than or equal to 200% FPL, you qualify for a grant of up to $350.
