Parashore Pear Slices Recalled
News
As of July 23, 2025, W.W. Industrial Group, Inc., NY is issuing a recall of Parashore Pear Slices in juice, 15 oz, due to the potential presence of elevated levels of lead and cadmium. Exposure to significant quantities of lead and cadmium can lead to severe health consequences. Cadmium ingested in high doses irritates the stomach lining. Symptoms of severe cadmium poisoning through ingestion may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and pain, diarrhea, and tenesmus (a persistent urge to defecate). Lead poisoning symptoms are more challenging to detect, but young children are more vulnerable since their bodies are still developing. Lead poisoning in children can result in fatigue, constipation, developmental delays, and slowed growth. Adults with lead poisoning may experience symptoms of high blood pressure, headaches, mood disorders, and difficulties with memory or concentration.
