Lead Poisoning Community Champion
Join Us in Protecting Our Community from Lead Poisoning!
Are you passionate about making a real difference in your neighborhood? Do you care about creating a safe and healthy environment for everyone in your community! Join us in protecting our community from lead poisoning! We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help raise awareness about lead poisoning prevention, provide resources for lead poisoning and SERI’s other programs, and ensure families have access to safe, lead-free, and healthy environments.
Why It Matters: Lead exposure can have devastating effects on children’s health and development. Tucson is disproportionately burdened in eliminating childhood lead poisoning. 37 of the designated high-risk ZIP codes for lead contamination by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) are located in Tucson. By volunteering, you’ll play a key role in protecting families and creating a safer, healthier future for everyone in Tucson.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with the community
- Test household items for lead contamination
- Educate about lead poisoning prevention in your neighborhood
- Contribute to a holistically healthy environment for families by offering the different programs that SERI has available for low-income communities
Benefits
- Get a Fry’s gift card of up to $500!
- Flexible volunteer schedule
- Help your community be a safer and healthier environment for all.
No Experience Needed! We’ll provide all the training and tools you need—just bring your energy and commitment!
