Ground Cinnamon Products Added to FDA Public Health Alert

On September 12, 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added Jiva Organic ground cinnamon to their alert that lists certain ground cinnamon products that contain elevated levels of lead. If you find these products in your possession, throw these products away. Please do not eat, sell, or serve these ground cinnamon products. 

Consuming these ground cinnamon products can lead to elevated blood lead levels, causing adverse health effects, especially in young children whose bodies are still growing. Early childhood exposure to lead can result in neurological issues such as learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and lower IQ.
