Clay Cookware Replacement Program

Benefits of getting your household items tested:

  1. Participants can find out if their household items contain lead
  2. Participants can become more aware of lead poisoning prevention and prevent lead poisoning in their own house
  3. Participants can get a free lead-free clay cookware replacement if their clay cookware test positive for lead and if they are willing to give up their lead-containing clay cookware

Do you qualify?

  • Total household income ≤ 80% of HUD low-income limits (see chart below)
  • To receive clay cookware replacement, participants must give up lead-containing clay cookware for proper disposal

Qualification documents:

  • Income documents for everyone in the household such as social security letter, tax return, check stubs, W2 form, unemployment letter, bank statement etc.

Steps of the Program

  1. Apply: Fill out the form on this page to submit your request for this program and begin your application.
  2. Home Visit: A SERI staff member will reach out to you to schedule a home visit to test your household items for lead and give you resources about lead poisoning
