Benefits of getting your household items tested:
- Participants can find out if their household items contain lead
- Participants can become more aware of lead poisoning prevention and prevent lead poisoning in their own house
- Participants can get a free lead-free clay cookware replacement if their clay cookware test positive for lead and if they are willing to give up their lead-containing clay cookware
Do you qualify?
- Total household income ≤ 80% of HUD low-income limits (see chart below)
- To receive clay cookware replacement, participants must give up lead-containing clay cookware for proper disposal
Qualification documents:
- Income documents for everyone in the household such as social security letter, tax return, check stubs, W2 form, unemployment letter, bank statement etc.
Steps of the Program
- Apply: Fill out the form on this page to submit your request for this program and begin your application.
- Home Visit: A SERI staff member will reach out to you to schedule a home visit to test your household items for lead and give you resources about lead poisoning
