NLPPW2021 Get Your Child Tested For Lead Poisoning

Did you know? Pima County is listed as the top 4th high-risk ZIP codes in Arizona for children with high levels of lead in their blood. If you are pregnant or have a child under the age of 6 living in your home (or visiting frequently) it is important to know about lead poisoning to protect your family. For National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week 2021 we want to educate you on childhood lead poisoning prevention and resources in your local community. During this event, you will get the opportunity to watch a live interview with Lorena Verdugo, Community Health Coordinator at El Rio Community Health. Lorena will be discussing the importance of lead blood testing for children, what the process is like for getting your child a lead blood test, and information on the City of Tucson’s Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Program.
