Community Champions Training – English
Saturday, October 12 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
FreeAre you passionate about creating a safe and healthy environment for everyone in your community? Lead poisoning is one of the most preventable environmental illnesses for developing children under 6 years old. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about environmental justice and want to be community champions against lead poisoning. Community Champions will educate about lead poisoning prevention, refer qualifying families to the City of Tucson’s Lead Hazard Reduction program, test for lead contamination in household items, and offer different programs SERI has for low-income families in their own community. This training will teach you about the basics of lead poisoning prevention and SERI’s initiatives for lead poisoning prevention. The second half of the training will familiarize participants with SERI’s other programs and their responsibilities as community champions. This training is in English and about 2 hours long.
Location: SERI Office – 3202 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85716
