SERI has received a grant from the City of Tucson to help low-income families make their homes more energy-efficient, so that they reduce their utility bills. Participating families will receive an energy conservation kit and a grant of up to $2,000 to purchase energy efficient appliances or make repairs to their homes. SERI staff will conduct a Healthy Homes audit, help participating families select the most effective energy efficiency interventions, and hire contractors to complete the work. This pilot project is modelled after SERI’s successful low-income rainwater harvesting program.
