Tucson, Arizona – SERI has been awarded an additional $20,000 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to participate in the Fair Housing Initiatives Program - Education and Outreach Initiative (COVID-19). Over the course of 12-months SERI will help housing providers and lenders in the Tucson, Arizona metropolitan area become more knowledgeable and understand the importance of following fair housing laws that protect people from housing discrimination.
To help control the number of fair housing violations during COVID-19, SERI’s grant funded program will provide fair housing education and outreach initiatives to landlords, rental agencies, lenders, insurers, real estate agents, and housing agencies. SERI will develop, coordinate, and execute a complaint system, web page, educational material, webinars, digital media campaign, and advertising. Educational material will be in the form of a brochure, presentation, videos, and more.
SERI’s complaint hotline (520-306-0938, firstname.lastname@example.org) will be available to victims of housing discrimination, additionally, SERI is a Arizona Relay Friendly Business. SERI will respond within 1 business day and refer the complaint to the proper agency.
